Last July 16, 2022 our volunteers worked efficiently and timely and met at 9:45 Am and at 10:00 Am preparation of food was started under the overall direction and guidance of President Helen.

Thank you Nenita Miyata, Public Relations Officer for sharing the pictures.

Trays of home cooked food from a caterer consisted of Filipino favorites like pancit and chicken adobo and white rice with healthy cut-up and whole fruits for dessert. Above picture included other volunteers not shown on the other picture - Nenita Miyata, Rica Werner, Jovita Serrano, Helen Alonso, Cora Biglang-Awa, Assistant Treasurer, Joey and Boots Mercado, Ruby Morallos, Fely and Wally Claudio, Lorraine Betts, Director of Youth and Rene Sollarano.

Another picture showing trays of our delicious food... pancit and adobo that are favorites of other cultures including Caucasian.

Of course, considering this event is our second feeding we have learned in the past to follow the strict rules of Orange Country Rescue Mission and distributed to all the volunteers for signature and submission of the following forms to Hannah Kim, cooordinator of Orange County Rescue Mission before the event:

  1. Village of Hope Kitchen Volunteer Safety Checklist;

  2. Group Volunteer Waiver, Hold Harmless and Indemnification, and Release of Liability Agreement;

  3. List of volunteers with their signatures, email addresses and option to sign up for the volunteer newsletter.

FFRGOC volunteers together with other Orange County Rescue Mission staff are ready to roll their sleeves and nourish with love the attendees.

Everything went well as planned and feeding started at 11:30 Am and approximately ended at 1:30 Pm. Volunteers also improved considering lessons learned as the day went such as volunteers who were using gloves, distributed the wrapped utensils to attendees for ease, hygiene and following COVID19 guidelines.

After feeding all the attendees, the volunteers had lunch and enjoyed each other's company serving Jesus through Mary by nourishing the less fortunates and following our mission statement.

Thank you Southwest Chapter for sponsoring the event as led by our Chapter Director Rica Werner.

Please follow our future blogs on events/projects where FFRGOC is committed to work as a community to help others and walk in faith to love and honor Jesus through her mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary including praying the rosary.

Be part of us , faith in action.... FFRGOC!
