Virtual Friday Lenten Devotion Series 2021

Updated: Mar 28, 2022

Due to the pandemic times, it is quite difficult to have a " real time"group retreat which we had effectively done in the past, but like the churches and other organizations, FFRGOC needed to adopt to the current environment. FFRGOC, then made the decision to have our Lenten Retreat virtually via Zoom every Friday during Lent in order for our members to pray and journey together as a community of faith and spend more time together as one in reflections and prayers and grow more within ourselves especially with our relationship to God.

Debbie Gonzales, our FFRGOC President, with the approval of FFRGOC Board of Directors, sent an email to the Board of Directors, Chapter Directors and Area Chairpersons of each chapters on a weekly basiis to invite every member or their friends to attend every Friday via Zoom our Lenten Retreat as per attached invitation. Flyer has been removed since the event took place.

As of this date, we have completed our Vrtual Friday Lenten Devotion Series and attached is the powerpoint presentation of what transpired during those weeks. It was a bit challenging for the production team to think "out of the box" ideas on how the retreats can be more effective to the members and friends considering there was no invited priest who can hold the attention of retreatants on a scheduled time and place. Time was also a critical factor to consider because everyone is busy "living" with their lifestyles changed due to the pandemic.... as a worker in a home office, having zoom meetings for their children at home and doing other mundane things like cooking meals for the family dinner and other zoom meetings/prayers they have committed to attend. All of these activities had to be rearranged to be able to attend our Zoom Lenten retreats. FFRGOC expresses the gratitude to all attendees and we hope these sessions were beneficial to you.

Based on the metrics used such as online survery right after the retreat, actual feedback from the Board of Directors and Chapter Directors and other FFRGOC members, the retreat was considered a success. But like other events, there is always room for improvent if we continue to have an event virtually via Zoom and suggestions were contributed by the Board members and Chapter directors and will be considered in the future.
