After the heights of COVID 19 pandemic, FFRGOC resumed meeting in person to enjoy the weather and have fun and what better way to do it is practice the tradition of having a fiesta. Our chapter directors did a great job of distributing these flyers ( cut out the names with their phone numbers for privacy purposes in the internet ) and following through to all our members through the area chairpersons and officers and had a good turnout!
Indeed, FFRGOC members, guests and board of directors really had fun participating in games, food and sharing their jokes and stories about our different activities in life as friends and families. RSVP was required to properly plan the food ordered and paid for by FFRGOC.
I tried to capture moments worth remembering but missed taking pictures of the yummy food ordered from the Filipino restaurant and other activities.
As a standard operating procedure (SOP) of our FFRGOC organization, we had a committee and people assigned with different responsibilities including food donations from volunteers to have a smooth operation. A program of activities was also scheduled and followed during the day.
Decor was also using the theme of a fiesta, thanks to the husband and wife team, Social Director, Chat Agbayani and Marlon Agbayani, Special Projects and their team and had banner flags common on most fiestas in the Philippines as shown below.
Typical picture of decor of Fiestas in the Philippines
Different colors of banners were hanged on the shelter where we had the picnic
For easy visibility, the big banner of FFRGOC was used
Attendees found Shelter 1 and FFRGOC banner with the registration table ready to all
Mary Ann, our previous Social Director and now First Vp of FFRGOC helped in the decor
Preparation of food donated to be served on the table:
Home made desserts donated by sisters Auring Reyes and Rica Werner on the assembly line
Now fully assembled and were ready to be served.
Attendees donated watermelons and were cut by the team
Preparation of cucumber pickles Japanese style at home
Green Salad ready for transport from home
Cooked rice in a big pot guarded by Lorraine (lol)
After the ordered food from the restaurant were in place we started the event with a prayer:
Walter Bayubay led the prayer using our new Prayer Book
Everyone were ready to eat after consuming donated chips and salsa
Everyone happy to be in line to eat
Lorraine, our Master of the Ceremony, announcing activities to follow
Helen distributed the novena prayer to the chapter director/area chairpersons
Children and later adults played the chair game and participants were really happy
Some moments worth remembering:
Grandson of Wally and Fely Claudio
Promoting our Mardi Gras Event
Bonding time for us
Bonding with people we miss and don't see often
Last but not least bonding of Cora with grandson of Fely and Wally
What better way to remember our events where we were all together enjoying life and sharing our faith and joy and thankful for all our blessings.
