FFRGOC tribute to Joseph (Joe) Arevalo, third and eight Past President (1999-2002, 2002-2003;2014-2017)

Updated: Apr 15

Please refer to the Profiles of Presidents on this website on Joe Arevalo's accomplishments and responsibilities plus who are the members of his family he left behind especially Violy Arevalo who endlessly loves and cares for him.

Instead, I will portray Joe Arevalo as we know him as a person, a leader, a family man and what his values and passions in life were when he was alive. He was born last May 18, 1946 and left all of us to be in heaven last December 9, 2023.

Pictures below showed how happy they were when they got married and I always look forward seeing them in awe on FFRGOC events as the best dressed couple with their barong and terno using the same colors they picked out for the different FFRGOC events. So regal they look together like royalties.

Joe, as we fondly call him, loved people and shared his food and one of his passion is to cook entrees or sides when the family invited their friends and his FFRGOC family of friends.

Here are some pictures where we all enjoyed the company and the food the family shared usually during the holidays. One picture below will bring also sad memories to our current President Helen Alonso and past board of director Dina Tenant who lost also their husbands who were on the picture who were very dear to their hearts as well.

And the food.......

And with Joe's participation and leadership with FFRGOC board officers and members, he was passionate on the Share-A- Meal program and feeding the needy and the homeless and shown below are the pictures attesting to his passion.

Another FFRGOC event

Joe took his responsibilities seriously building relationships with the Bishop of Orange, Cardinal Tagle and several clergies in the diocese and his love for Father Caboboy plus giving the gavel to the next president, Debbie Gonzales and he was a great liaison when when we need his guidance.

Love this picture and wondering what Past President Debbie and Current President Helen were saying to Joe next to the Bishop. lol

Joe and Violy were so happy with Father Juan Caboboy

Joe handed the gavel to his able successor who also served twice as FFRGOC President, Debbie Gonzales.

The pictures below also included us on important events in his life like marriage of his daughter and attended FFRGOC Meetings and Simbang Gabi, and Holy Masses on our Rosary Rally up to the end even when he was bound to a wheelchair. That is love and commitment as a leader and supporter of FFRGOC.

Joe was a family man and prayed and celebrated birthdays of his family whether they are alive and dead and we became part of his family praying and celebrating with them.

Joe love his family a lot and this is the Arevalo clan in USA

The pictures below are special people to Joe and Violy who helped and continue to help them in their real estate needs, giving them the care and love of bringing each of them to hospitals and doctors when needed and to restaurants or bring home cooked meals they liked and Joe and Violy call them their "angels".

Last but not least Joe had a passion for growing orchids which he was very proud and rightfully so as shown below, of his beautiful orchids and cared for them with his labor of love.

In summary, I hope you enjoyed knowing more about Joe , who we all love dearly and will miss him and let us just pray for his family especially Violy who had been a loving wife now and forever. Let me share with you the picture I love looking and keep looking at as a very romantic couple displayed inside their house.

So so so love this picture of them like Romeo and Juliet!
